Mighty Wanderers president Thomson Mpinganjira has challenged the team to defy the odds and turn the tables in tomorrow’s CAF Champions League preliminary round second leg against Simba Sports Club at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The Nomads lost the first leg 0-1 at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe last Sunday.
In an interview yesterday, the business magnate and philanthropist, who is also the club’s main sponsor, challenged the players to get the required result and see what is in store for them.
“They know what awaits them if they upset the tables and I believe they go out there and give it their best shot,” he said.
The club’s interim head coach McDonald ‘Nginde’ Mtetemera said they are prepared to fight every inch of the way to get the required result.
‘The Nomads family should have faith in this team. With the way we are preparing, I am confident of turning the tables,” he said.
“We are not here on holiday. We are here on a mission and we will find to the very end.”
Mtetemera also said they will not sit back, but attack with all their guns blazing.
“Yes, we are playing away, but we won’t sit back because that will be dangerous. Our strategy is to attack relentlessly while being cautious at the back,” he said.
The Nomads had their first training session yesterday morning to loosen up after their one hour, 45 minutes trip on Thursday evening.
